About Stow Municipal Court

The Stow Municipal Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor and traffic offenses committed within its geographical boundaries and civil cases in which the amount in controversy does not exceed $15,000. The Court handles about 20,000 cases per year.

The Court serves sixteen communities in northern Summit County including Boston Heights, Boston Township, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Macedonia, Munroe Falls, Northfield, Northfield Center Township, Peninsula, Reminderville, Sagamore Hills, Silver Lake, Stow, Tallmadge, Twinsburg and Twinsburg Township.

Probation & Programs

The Court’s community control programs are considered to be among Ohio’s most innovative. If you are found guilty of a traffic or criminal misdemeanor, and part of your sentence includes probation, you will be assigned to one of the Court’s Community Control Officers.

These programs ensure that defendants are adhering to their court orders (AA, anger management counseling, parenting classes, etc.) and in some cases can allow defendants to avoid jail time.

Underage Alcohol Diversion Program

If you are facing a conviction for underage alcohol, you may be eligible for the Underage Alcohol Diversion Program.

Minor Marijuana Offense Diversion Program

If you are a minor and are facing a conviction for a marijuana offense, you may be eligible for the Minor Marijuana Offense Diversion Program.
