The court serves the communities of Barberton, Green, New Franklin, Norton, Copley, Coventry and Clinton. Barberton Municipal Court is an integral part of the state court system in Ohio. The court conducts preliminary hearings in felony cases, handles traffic and criminal misdemeanors, and civil cases where the money in dispute does not exceed $15,000.

Presiding Administrative Judge - Todd M. McKenny

A life-long resident of Summit County, Judge McKenney graduated from Manchester High School (1982), Hiram College, BA, Magna Cum Laude (1986) and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Ohio State University College of Law (1989) and was thereafter admitted to the Ohio Bar. Judge McKenney is also licensed to practice in the Northern District of Ohio and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Jill Flagg Lanzinger

Judge Jill Flagg Lanzinger is a judge at the Barberton Municipal Court. Judge Lanzinger began her service as judge at the Barberton Municipal Court in February of 2015. In 2015, Judge Lanzinger founded and presided over the Barberton Municipal Drug Court. Judge Lanzinger now presides over the Mental Health Court. Judge Lanzinger served as judge for over two years at the Summit County Common Pleas Court and served as a magistrate at the Akron Municipal Court.
