About the Garfield Heights Municipal Court
The Garfield Heights Municipal Court hears misdemeanor cases, traffic cases, civil cases where the amount is $15,000 or less, and Small Claims cases involving $6,000 or less. The court may hold preliminary hearings for felony charges. If probable cause is found, the case will be sent to the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Nicastro was elected in 1993 and took office as a Garfield Heights Municipal Court Judge on January 2, 1994 and has served the Court for 27 years. Currently she serves as the Presiding and Administrative Judge of the Court.
Judge Sergio I. DiGeronimo
Judge DiGeronimo was appointed to the Garfield Heights Municipal Court by Governor DeWine in December, 2021. Prior to joining the Court, he served as the City of Brecksville’s Assistant Law Director, Assistant Prosecutor, and Prosecutor for over 25 years.
